Leo season - how to have unshakeable confidence for your life purpose.

Whether you are a horoscope junkie or think its totally woo- woo, working with different themes every month can help you refine your vision, understand your life purpose, live a life in alignment, and as a result have more peace, happiness, and joy.

Last season was the season of cancer- divine feminine, moon, mothering, going inward, reflection, intuition - limiting the noise in order to create the space to hear what was on your heart.

This season we shift into Leo - fierce, confident, solar plexus, sun, fatherly, bold lioness energy. this month, we focus on taking what was on your heart and speaking it into existence, bringing your desires to life and standing confidently in them (not always an easy task)

I'll keep this short and sweet, but all of us, and I repeat all of us, have our own unique gifts and purposes and reasons we are here. things that make us light us up, things that feel resonant, things that hit your soul and you go "ah yes, that's it", if we are all the same, that would be boring AF - your souls mission is important to the greater good.

the assingnemnt becomes how do you feel confident enough to bring them to life.

in a society where we are suffocated by social norms and what it should "look like", let me remind you these are arbitrary, made up, and yet agreed upon depending on what culture or society you grew up in. women in some cultures have rights to vote others do not, europe agrees its okay to take a nap or "siesta" in the middle of the work day, where the US would baulk at such an idea, taking off your shoes or loudly slurping noodles in Japan is respected, where in the US wearing shoes in doors and eating quietly is preferred. there is no "definitive right or wrong" - just agreed upon norms. The beauty of this is now you realize what is on your heart may not be the "social norm" but it doesn't mean its wrong either; you have your own life, your own vision, your own purpose, your own soul contract that was placed there by grand design; it was never wrong.

now here is the tricky thing, what if what is on your heart doesn't agree with your nuclear family structure, the religion you grew up in, what your society deems is important - but it is still on your heart, where does that leave you? what if you quietly find yourself in a flow state and doing things that light you up, but when you get around others or out in public you feel the need to hide those things and chameleon to blend in to please others? you may be able to do this for awhile, but eventually your calling will get louder and louder and the more you ignore it and stuff it down, the sicker and more out of alignment you will feel. trust me, that's not the life you want to live, you are here to be free, to live in alignment, and fulfill your purpose for the greater good of humanity.

here's the last thing I will say, what's on your heart isn't just for you, it's a calling because it serves a greater purpose, you have medicine that someone else needs. think about when someone said exactly what you needed to hear, when someone shared something that changed or pivoted your life - they knew that information, they could have kept it solely to themselves, but they decided to share and it rippled out to the world. by them speaking truth it possibly changed the course of your life, look back to some of the most eye-opening monumental moments in your life, perhaps it was a book, a podcast, or a workshop - what if that person never did that thing? essentially, by NOT doing your hearts desire, it's not only a disservice to you, but to the world and everyone around you who needed it.

Journal Prompts

alright, let's get into some journal prompts to shake off some limiting beliefs so you can step confidently into your calling.

  1. picture this, you are at the end of your life surrounded by family, friends, and everyone who loves you - they ask you to "tell the story of your life" if you play it safe, don't do the thing on your heart, do what society deems is the "right thing" will you have any regrets?

the alternative is "i fucking did it all, i did i BIG, i did it scared, i didn't hold back, it was shaky sometimes - but eventually it worked out and i lived the life that was for me, fully" how would it feel instead to tell the story of you fully living your life in alignment?

  1. how do I plan on being my own hype-woman, personal cheerleader, and parenting myself through doing what is on my heart when everyone else may not agree?

listen, speaking what's on your heart isn't always easy, especially when you're not used to it. it feels nice when people tell us we're doing good, we love the validation - but validation from others is fleeting - one moment they can tell us it's great, other moments it can be crickets. if you stay in a state of needing validation from others to prove you are on your path, it will be a tumultuous and bumpy ride. instead picture yourself doing the thing, teaching a class for the first time, starting the business, getting on a dating app to start a new relationship - even if it was awkward AF and you BOMBED IT - how can you speak life into yourself like you would talk to your best friend and take it not as failure, but as a growing experience? "hey girl you are trying something brand new, you are learning, what did you like about it, what did you not like about it, how do you want to do it differently next time? and then dust yourself and try again. if your shitting on yourself - you'll never get go where you want

  1. how can i continue to show up consistently for what is on my heart, even when its hard and uncomfortable?

here's the deal, confidence doesn't come overnight - it takes time and repetition. we want to instantly be good at something, instantly be successful and when it doesn't happen we think it's not right for us. that's not true - more so the universe is saying, are you committed to sticking with this thing? can you show up even when its hard? the universe wants a little proof. when you bail every time its hard you are telling your ego "this isn't for me, I'm not capable, this is only possible for these kinds of people" but THOSE people got there by showing up 100 times and landing it on the 101st. you will harness more confidence, clarity, and assurance by continuing to have your own back. Oprah was told she wasn't cut out for television, Walt Disney had a lot of initial flops, Michael Jordan from his varsity team, Beyonce first band tryout didn't make it - can you imagine if they didn't keep showing up?

  1. what is one action step I can do right now to bring my heart's desire to life?

it's cute to stay in day dreaming mode all day, but it's just that, dreaming. building out the life you want requires action steps - meeting your partner to start a family requires you putting yourself out there, starting a business requires doing a business plan or outline, teaching something like yoga might mean signing up for a yoga teacher training. if it feels big or overwhelming chunk it out, get a physical planner and section it out - it may not feel like a lot initially but one day you turn around like "damn I did the damn thing, look at how far i am" it's not always glamorous work, but it's the work that needs to be done. it doesn't happen overnight, but they key is to "just keep swimming" the path of your souls desire.

  1. what is distracting me or getting in my way of my dream? how can i set boundaries around those things?

most likely when you are doing the thing you want to do in life, you are in "flow state", it comes easily, it comes naturally. notice what is taking you away from that, notice what is draining your energy - particular relationships, situations, environments, social media, binging netflix? is there a reason why you are distracting yourself from doing what you actually want to do? is it perhaps because you don't think you're capable or it feels too hard (remember be your own best hype-woman) perhaps you need to set some loving boundaries; that space will allow you to create, focus, and be in your flow state to bring your ideas to fruition.

  1. what limiting beliefs do i have around my purpose or what is on my heart?

listen, none of us come out of childhood or live in this world without getting dinged up a bit; a parent who said your ideas were silly, a teacher who said you would never be able to do that thing, an ex partner who threw some low blows to your confidence, a boss who gave off the "you'll never be where i'm at energy". cool - hurt people, hurt people. but you're also not the same person any more, you get decided right now, today, how you want to author your life going forward. you can change the narrative at any time. it's good to notice the limiting beliefs that are coming up, the stories about why you're not ever going to amount to the thing you want to do, but what we're not going to do is believe them. i like to laugh at mine when they come up, oh cute, there you are again with your negativity. bye felicia we also don't want to dwell our time and energy on the circumstance or the person who said those things to you, it's wasting your brain space; instead make your own new beliefs " i am a person who can learn how to do that thing, i can take a class, i actually AM capable, why wouldn't i be?, i will do that thing in life, i will keep striving that direction" new brain circuitry and beliefs loading.

  2. We are in Leo season, but the full moon is actually Aquarius , don't ask me how this works, it hurts my brain. While Leo is confidence, strength, courage that allows us to stand strong, Aquarius is humanitarian, visionary, responsible for wordliness. Perhaps list everything that is on your heart and then ask - how does me living my highest purpose support the collective?  How can your gifts can support the greater world and mission? Then, allow Leo to come up fierce, have your back, and support you getting there.

Last but not least, sometimes what is on your heart isn't 100% clear for everyone, there can be some fogginess or uncertainty, is this what i want to do or that? in that case, I recommend trying it all and seeing what parts you enjoyed (or didn't), that will help you refine your vision. For me personally, I taught workshops where the only person who showed up was my mom (love you), I did group challenges that left me feeling burnt out, I deactivated my social media accounts more times than I would like to admit,  I desperately wanted to teach yoga but was too nervous to teach and would my cancel classes until I eventually became my own best cheerleader and said "fuck this, we're doing this 100 times ugly before you quit again" - I eventually landed at a studio I love" and it didn't take me 100 times..... but maybe 5.

If I would have quit or thought all of those were failures, I wouldn't have realized that I actually just don't love teaching live classes and workshops, but I'm a boss at making programs, if I quit, I wouldn't be teaching a yoga practice that changed my life and now other women come up to me after class and say "this has truly freed me from my anxiety" are you kidding me! I wouldn't have opened a brick and mortar store when it got hard because there was a lot of paperwork, I wouldn't have clients that I get to watch reclaim their health if I took myself out of the game; I'm not saying it was easy, but i'm beyond grateful I stuck to it. I'm learning every day, refining, and becoming the highest version of myself. you can too. You're doing it right now by showing up - keep going.

SO, get out your notebook, pour a cup of tea, and let's get you shouting your hearts desires from the rooftops and living the life you came here to live.

Happy healing woman!

Graitude,

Hannah
